Weyberbacher Merry Monks – Fairgrounds Wine and Spirits Video

What’s going on, everybody? Welcome back to
FairgroundsTV! I am your desperately-in-need-of-a-haircut host, Peter Moeller and today we have Weyerbacher
Merry Monks. It’s a golden ale from Easton, PA and it comes in at 9.3 percent – oh boy
– alcohol. It might be slightly carbonated. I have not had this in a very, very long time.
I thoug, thought I’d take it home and check it out, Weyerbacher being one of my favorites.
They make a beautiful quad, they have this littler gem, the golden ale, um, I dunno.
Looks like we got quite a little bit of head there. It’s a cloudy gold, deep, dark golden.
Nice bright white head, obviously this is going to be phenomenal lacing. The head is
dense as anything. It’s sticking to my finger. Let’s give it a sniff. I’m getting some, the
spice. It’s a little hard to get anything through the head. Let’s give it a nice big
sip. A little banana, a little pear, a nice kind of spice rounding out. It’s like that
coriader, candied orange or, um, definitely candied orange peel flavor on my tongue. I
mean, look how dense this head is, it’s absolutely phenomenal. I love these styles and Weyerbacher
just does it right for me. Merry Monks comes in sixpacks as well. It’s just really delicious.
You can feel the 9.3 going down but on the palate it’s not too overbearing. I’m getting
this slight sweetness on the sides of my tongue, like in the middle, but the 9.3 isn’t overbearing.
That candied orange, citursy kind of thing is coming through. Nice fruit, nice spice.
Love it! Weyerbacher, awesome company, check ’em out! Tons of stuff. They got IPAs, double
IPAs, the simcoe IPA, like I said, the Quad. They do all sorts of things, check ’em out.
Thanks for joing us and I’m going to love it. Cheers.
