I think the problem is how this show presented this concern. They were talking really light heartly and it seemed like that the (actually serious) stories of the girl were more of funny stories. Even me found this more comical than serious even though I know how alcoholism is really serious especially in SK. It wasn't really a serious mood, which could be because of the editing or hosts. It would have helped a lot if the whole mood has been serious for the viewer to see the actual danger and matter of this concern.

She should start taking her drinking problem a bit more seriously, I'm getting more and more worried about her safety as a lady at nights when she gets drunk and passes out often. That's a serious concern. Unless that's normal in Korea. Well if thats so…then 💁 no one can help this issue. Except themselves changing themselves. shrugs

just tell me why

This terrifies me. My family is scottish (another country with a big drinking culture, even though it has got better in recent years) and I have several relatives who have died from alcoholism. There was a man who lived across the road from me when I was a child. He was a really nice man but he had a drinking problem. One day I woke up to the sound of police sirens and he was out in the middle of the road with a gun (he'd been in the army) and had been trying to shoot his wife.
It's crazy what alcohol does to people.

@ 6:07 I think you can see Dongyeob really does not find this funny. She's trying to act sweet/cute about all this drinking but it's a straight up disease.

The fact that the woman was brave enough to admit that she has an addiction and even went all the way to this show to seek help… Yet they didn't take it seriously. It's quite 😔

People comment here like other countries don't have alcohol problems. At least people don't get roofied in Korea…

Let me guess before I even start : it's not a real concern + they make jokes about it.

Edit : I was right, what a surprise. That's so sad

just tell me why

I hope they can go to counseling for this. I have a distant family member who recently got admitted to the hospital due to alcohol withdrawal. What happened is that for a long time he's been an alcoholic, but when his grandmother died, he suddenly stopped drinking. I don't know much about his current condition but from what I've heard, he "could die at any time".
Just stopping immediately can be very dangerous, so I hope that they take the right steps to recovery.

They start drinking at a young age: I worry for them.

Why is she laughing at her own concern? Why is she so proud of drinking everyday?

You guys do realize how culture shape your thoughts and point of view ? You want to discuss our ease with poverty sexual things in the media and how we don't really seem to care about ""soft"" drugs ?
Ethnocentrism at its peak

If you are an alcoholic there is no such thing as moderation it's best if you can quit completely

Right here in my country drinking and selling alcohol is prohibited… When they found out they confiscate it.. I don't really understand why they think this is not a concern… Am 22 and I've never tasted alcohol till now.

I hope they would be even harder on telling them that the family should gradually reduce the amount of drinks every day or even suggested to see profesional to help them. I'm jealous to see them as a happy family but the father and the daughter obviously are alcoholics, they need to seriously think and do something about it.

I have an idea. Hello Counselor brings Dr. Phil as a guest with people that has alcoholism, narcissism, etc. Basically problems that isn't a concern in Korea but it is EVERYWHERE else 😑

How can the mother say to people with a problem with alcoholism to drink in moderation, a person with this problem cannot do that! They should cut off alcohol completely. Also, what's with this attitude "alcohol is something much needed and you shouldn't live without it"?! People should understand that alcohol is not what their good moments should depend on.
