Sam Adams Alpine Spring – Fairgrounds Wine and Spirits Video
I’m Peter Moeller of Fairgrounds Wine and
Spirits and welcome to FairgroundsTV…What’s going down everybody? Happy Friday, we’re
doing our Friday beer tasting. We’ve got the new spring seasonal from Sam Adams out already.
This is ridicuous; it’s freezing outside. It’s January. But, hey, it just came in. We
got to try it. It’s called the Alpine Spring. It’s brand new from Sam Adams. We tried it
at the store and I needed to try it at home. It’s 5% alcohol. It’s an unfiltered Munich-style
Helles Lager. Let’s check it out. I’m getting a, a citrusy lemongrass, maybe a little orange.
A little bit of spice. Let’s give it a check out. It’s a nice mouthfeel. The hops start
to come out a little bit. It’s a little bit of citrus and a little bit of orange. It’s
got a slight funk to it. It’s also got this slight sweetness to it, it’s all these things
kind of melding and blending together. You’ve got the hops side with that citrus and orange
and that light grapefruity taste. And then you’ve got the malts and this sweetness and
almost like a honey-ish, meh, malty sweetness. It’s ok, it’s nothing groundbreaking. It definitely
deserves a check out from you guys. It’s the brand new spring seasonal. Um, it’s unfiltered
too. It’s not as crisp as I would thought for a spring ale but their marketing has it
as a beer that can stand up to some cold nights and some nice days. So it’s a pretty good
in-between beer. Check it out, let us know what you think. Come on back after you’ve
tried it and comment on the video. That’s about it. We’ll see you on Wednesday and peace out!
