Mental Health | The Power of Lithium Orotate

By Brian Lemay 80 comments

[Intro Music] – Lithium Orotate is actually
a naturally occurring mineral from the earth, from the soil, that supports a healthy mood. It’s got neuroprotective effects, neuroregenerative effects. It’s been shown to slow the
aging process of the brain, and even improves the body’s
formation of new brain cells. The health promoting
effects of lithium go back thousands of years, actually,
when the Greek physicians used mineral water baths, high in lithium, to help their patient. And even up to recent days,
there were hot springs in the Georgia area and
hot springs in Arkansas that had high levels of
lithium in the water. People would go and soak in the water, and they would drink the water
for relaxation and calming. You know, lithium is known
to help calm you down and it’s very stress relieving and it’s very relaxing for your body. New Mexico also have some
springs that were very popular and that was during the 1920’s
when people would drink, it used to be called lithiated water. Lithiated water. In fact, a very interesting story is the story about the
carbonated beverage 7 Up. I’m sure most everybody has heard about the popular drink 7
Up, actually had lithium in its original recipe and it was promoted as a calming drink that would lift you up and the 7 Up, the seven in 7 Up actually came from lithium’s atomic weight on the periodic table. Which was 6.94 actually, but they rounded it up to seven. And then they called the product 7 Up. And it was actually advertised
as a lithiated lemon soda. And the advertisements
that they were playing back in the, from 1929 to
1950 is when it was available, was lithiated lemon soda,
and it used the phrase, “It takes the ouch out of grouch.” (laughs) So, even in the 1920s,
1930s, and ’40s, and ’50s, people were still grouchy and 7 Up was trying to address that with lithiated soda drink
and their slogan was, “Takes the ouch out of grouch,” so I thought that was pretty funny. They actually used lithium
citrate that was added to 7 Up. And what we’re talking about
today is Lithium Orotate. But anybody from the age
of 18 to 80 can benefit from taking a Lithium Orotate product. Male, female, anybody who wants to improve their mental wellness, balance their mood. We actually have lithium orotate in the Neurofuzion formula as well. Just like calcium and
potassium, and magnesium, lithium is a required element that every human body requires. And actually helps
protect the gray matter, and lithium has also been
known to protect the brain from certain types of toxins, particularly in the gray matter. What I like about it is
recently even coming out where lithium can help, it has been shown, to offer antiaging effects for the brain. So it is kind of like
an essential mineral, or let’s say a vital trace element. Dr. Jonathan Wright
actually is a big believer, he’s been using Lithium Orotate, and he actually said that the importance of lithium supplementation
and the fact that lithium should not be a drug at all, it’s actually a mineral in
the same family of minerals that includes sodium and potassium. Now people ask me how much Lithium Orotate can someone take safely in a day? And there’s different
theories of thought on that, but looking at all of the research on Lithium Orotate and even
looking at prescription based lithium and trying
to figure out what is, what do I think is going
to be a safe level? According to most research you can say that about 30 milligrams
per day can be safely taken. Daily dosages above between 10 to 30 milligrams,
somewhere in that. We’ve even had people
that have had success as low as one milligram. It’s one of those things you
really kind of have to find what area works the best, or what dosage works the best for you. The reason why I like Lithium Orotate is because Lithium Orotate
is about three to five times more bioavailable than any
other forms of lithium. And the orotic acid is
nothing more than a salt that’s bound to the lithium, and it kind of acts like
a barrier for the lithium. But another thing that I’m really exciting about seeing is that lithium helps
the body produce BDNF which is Brain Derived
Neurotrophic Factor. And that has a neuroprotective effect that actually can stimulate
the nerve cells in the brain. Everybody is looking for
ways to stimulate the brain and BDNF is actually a peptide protein that’s concentrated in the hippocampus and the cortex of the brain. And when you elevate the BDNF, that promotes a positive mood, and lowers the levels of stress. Sometimes people ask
me, well what, you know, if lithium is supposed to be in the body, what are some of the foods
that naturally contain lithium? So I wanted to go over a few foods that naturally contain lithium. The herb thyme, pistachios, potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, dried beans, lentils, chickpeas, peas, cabbage, cauliflower, lemons, mushrooms, and organic coffee actually has some lithium in it. Some of those things, just some foods you can eat on the side. However, if you are having issues with any memory or any type of stress or any
type of cognitive function, mood swings, anything like that,
you might want to look into supplementing with a
Lithium Orotate product. [Outro Music]

Ukraine has many of these springs, many will go for 2 weeks treatments. When my wife and I where in Berdynsk they have water fountains with this water. They also have mud pools where this mud is applied to the body where there are injuries, though the smell is horrible.

For about 7 yrs. I've had IBS symptoms aka diarrhea. I've tried everything for it and done lots of research but it took until recently after watching a video on SIBO survivor with John? Bressen, I realize I'm sensitive to thiols, a form of sulfur. 70% of people with IBS have this sensitivity. So I avoided the main high sulfur foods (some meat is fine according to Dr. Andy Cutler), and it worked over night – I'm so thankful. The supplements Bressen recommends as thiol binders are molybdenum and lithium orotate. He also recommends taking pepto bismol at least at first which I did. Stools were black for a few days, pulling out the thiols. I hope I don't have to go off kale for long..

Lithium in most parts of Europe is stricty forbidden. Like all other substances that are declared "non-essential".
You know it is good when it is forbidden. =D Such as Lithium, high dosage melatonin, colloidal gold and so on.

Hello! I'm so happy to find this channel!! ? I have bipolar disorder and borderline personality. I'm 54 years old. Do you know if Lithium is the best drug for my diagnosis? In the past doctors put me on everything BUT lithium.. Then a new doctor got angry when he read my papers, and asked me questions about everything, he took me off of everything, and put me on the lowest dose of lithium. I didn't feel anything except better- Then my insurance dropped me. I have been lost for years now. I because only depressed after menopause. No happy highs, just low. I have trouble getting mental health care. Any suggestions? Thank you for your channel. I am looking forward to watching and learning some helpful things here. You've got nice people in your comments too ?

Wait…what? The only lithium I've heard of is the drug used for psychiatric treatment, which is a heavy metal…which I thought was detrimental to the pineal gland. Am I mistaken? So this a different kind of lithium?

What if a very manic individual believes he is healed, refusing all his meds and making drastic and terrible life-altering mistakes? Would slipping a bit of this into his food have any positive effects? He refuses to see his psychiatrist. He has wasted almost every cent he ever had and has destroyed two vehicles in the past months. Terrible question, I know…
