¿Cómo preparar los tintes para cuero al alcohol o al agua?
Hello my friends. Wellcome one more week to Canal Artesano Today, we are going to do a really easy tutorial to learn how to prepare alchohol or water inks. We are going to use as example alchohol anilines As I said in a previous video they have been banned in Europe So they are going to disappear soon from markets Anyway, it is the same procedure for any pigment diluted in alcohol or water Let´s go with the video We are going to use the following materials One envelope of pigment, in this case alchohol aniline Or the kind of pigment you want to use One bottle of medical alcohol or water in case it is a water pigment. And a glass jar empty and clean If it is possible with a big hole To allow us to put into the sponge or the tool we will use Now we are going to open our envelope And we are going to move the pigment to the bottom I really sugest to use gloves, even I´m not using them, xd. And it is absolutely simple. You only have to put the pigment inside the jar Now we are going to use the full alcohol bottle If you wanted a less intense colour you can use two bottles or only a half if you are looking for a really intense colour. However the usual amounts are one bottle for one envelope And now we have only to close the jar And move the mixture And we get our ink ready to be used Since it is an alcohol ink my sugestion is to take care and close the jar really carefully otherwise it will evaporate quickly . There are many videos in youtube explaining how to dye the leather I was going to do as well a video explaining how to do it but in my opinioin it is a really important part of artesan creativity There isn´t a corrent form of dyeing the leather, there are only diferent techniques. I usually use these king of wool brushes. We have to put it inside the jar and drain the extra ink to dye the leather. If you want hide the stroke, dye the leather in the same direction, from one side of the leather to the other. If you want to show the stroke dye it using diferent directions of the brush. I like to show the strokes because it shows that it is a hanmade work. When I hadn´t this brush I used sponges The procedure to ink the leather is the same that with the wool brush. And finally the brush, it is usually used to paint some specific areas. We have used alcohol inks but we can dye the leather with diferent kind of inks. As water inks, wich give as a result more pastel tones. Or also with acrylic paintings In special when we paint specific areas of the leather or drawings, we use acrylics or paintings for fabric. So dye the leather as you want, experiment with diferent techniques Because it is a kind of creativity and art.
