2013 Brunello: first impressions from Paolo Vagaggini

Paolo Vagaggini, our winemaker, gives his first impressions on the 2013 harvest. Over to you Paolo. 2013 is an old style vintage. The grapes ripened slowly in the right way without excessive alcohol. It wasn’t too hot, there was good rainfall, good average temperatures and a great thermal excursion resulting in wonderful aromas. The fermenting juice is very very aromatic and strong in colour. If estates were able to pick by today, 4th October, the grapes and the must are very good. It seems as if from tomorrow there will be a lot of rain which will be problematic. Let’s hope not. Fortunately we finish today! Thanks very much. Ciao!.
